Repurposing – the key to working easier
Mike Paetzold back once again for the final day of my stay here while on The Old Bald Guy’s Blog Tour . I am traveling from blog to blog across the internet stopping for a week at a time. Hope you are enjoying my series here on affiliate marketing. Glad to see some comments yesterday and I hope it continues as you may just win a prize.
First a quick review of what has been covered so far.
- Day 1 – Affiliate Marketing – The tools of the trade
- Day 2 – Creating or setting affiliate landmines
- Day 3 – Using blogs for your affiliate marketing
- Day 4 – Using content for your affiliate marketing
Now if you remember the lesson about using content it seemd like e lot of that bad old 4 letter work that all of us marketer types avoid like the pl;ague – WORK.
First if you can afford it you can outsource all of this so that is one way to get rid of the work and I do quite a bit of that. However, the real key is to use the content whether you created it or bought it in more than one way.
I always start with creating a good blog post. (Then that mat be why some know me as the WordPress Guy.) If the blog post is long enough you can use that and submit it to the article directories.
Often I will allow my blog to be an article directory and give people permission to use that content with my resource links included. Here is a post where I did just that.
Private Label Rights – Use them quickly
But now I worte a blog post and I also have an article. Pretty neat so far huh?
But…
Let’s take it a step further. If you look at that post I mentioned above you will see that the article is also available in video and podcast format.
The funny thing is that once you know the steps it took less than 30 minutes once I had the quality article ready to do all of those things.
Sunday Night Cash Plan will take you step by step through exactly how to do that. So now you created a quality blog article and you have an article to submit, a video that you uploaded to the video sites and a podcast all to draw you traffic to your affiliate offers.
Now the last item we discussed yesterday was creating e-books. If you want to create a report start with a series of blog posts. I give away a report I wrote on my blog at Mike Paetzold Recommends called Build Your Business Series.
This report was taken from a series of posts on that topic that I wrote over two weeks. For two weeks I had fresh content for my blog and then I compiled the posts into pdf format. Had a cover made and now I have a gift to get people to subscribe to my blog.
Of course any recommendations within the book are my affiliate links so it works as an affiliate landmine just sitting there waiting for someone to click the link and take action. Then a get one of those nice surprises – an email titled “You just made a commission”.
Obviously you can take it even further. My good friend Soren Jordansen followed the same format to create his “Internet Marketing Success Formula” only he did it through a membership site and sold rebranding rights to the e-book while using it to build a sizable list. That book was written as a series of blog posts and then compiled into book format.
Finally I talked about scribd yesterday.Scribd.com is a site where you can upload a report like that and anyone that finds it can grab it. As my links are in there it is just another way that people can find me and they do get indexed and found through there.
So there are a few ways to repurpose your content to generate more affiliate sales. If you think of it I could take the posts in this visit and easily create a book from them that I could give away for an opt in. You guys get lucky and get it without that but do check out my blogs for more good actionable ideas.
Now off to the New Breed Marketer for my next stop.
