Sometimes you come across those business questions that just have you stumped or slow down your progress. Personally, this has happened to me, especially when I was just starting my online marketing business. Within this article I’m going to answer two of the questions I had about creating products, hoping to help you with your business success.

Lets start with the first question:

When launching a product that includes teleseminars and monthly send outs, how much of the product should I have completed and how much lead time should I allow?

When creating a product and knowing how much lead time you will need, always give yourself as much time as possible. Usually, one way or another, it will take longer than you expected.

For example, if it is a 12 month course, I would give yourself at least a three to four month buffer and then I would stay ahead three to four months throughout the entire course. I think that way that is a real safe zone.

That is the reality of product development, you never really know how long it will take you because of the unforeseen difficulties. It would be great to get products created really quickly, but usually there are hiccups along the way with delivery or packaging.

Expect it to take you longer, so give yourself a buffer zone, which will allow you to get it developed as quickly as possible. Keeping that buffer zone should be your focus so you’ll be able to get your product completed and stay ahead.

Second question:

Do you have any suggestions for a quick way to create a product to sell on a topic that I am an expert on.

Firstly, you don’t have to be an expert to create a product quickly. Secondly, there are a number of ways to do this. Teleseminar series are a very easy and fast way to create products, especially if you sell the series as well. Recently, I have started several different courses and am doing them as a teleseminar series. Once I have completed each call I turn them into products. Basically, I have created brand new material in the teleseminars, as soon as they were finished I had them transcribed, built a course from that, and now have multiple products.

This is very easy to do and you can do the same thing. Map out what kind of content you want to teach and put it into a modular format. I use this format a lot because it makes it very easy to create content. Pick major topics for individual modules, then within that you can cover all the strategies and methods within that topic. This allows you to crank out content very easily and quickly because you don’t have to have the material prepared ahead of time, just use the teleseminar calls to create the content.
