Picking Your Affiliate Niche
You visited a few times and I would appreciate your thoughts on this post, why not comment?
Personal talent and expertise are the greatest assets in any business, and affiliate marketing simply proves that fact. These are the things where people are experts, and truly know their way around the subject.
Niche marketing is, literally, a niche in the marketplace. All sports, for example, have their own niches, and marketing, advertising and merchandising are all pitched directly at these individual niches. Checking out an affiliate is the point where you start needing to look closely at your potential market, and what your niche involves.
Theres a lot of good business reasons for being picky about your affiliates niche. The most glaringly obvious is that you need to know what you’re doing, particularly if you’re actively marketing. If you find an affiliate where you haven’t even got the beginnings of any understanding of the business, you’ve found a likely problem for yourself. If you don’t even know what the possible problems are, you’re not likely to do well.
Never mind the affiliate sales spiel, or the worthless industry hype about fashionable affiliate schemes. Unless you know you can make something out of them, they’re not what you need. The absolute bottom line is finding something that you can operate effectively, particularly in active marketing, where your commitments are much greater. This is the time to get very picky, ask questions, and get comprehensible, meaningful, answers, before committing years of your life, time and money to anything
The other side of this coin is that in areas where you do know your way around, you will definitely do a lot better. You start much better informed. You will also know the market and the competition a lot better. In terms of active marketing, it’s a winning hand. These are huge advantages, and your best shot is to be actively looking for them.
Successful affiliates have the right mix of sales and business skills, products, and the required levels of expertise and experience. It’s basic common sense, but fussy common sense. If youre a keen golfer, you’ll do well in a golfing affiliate. If you weren’t a keen golfer, what would you say your chances would be?
Finding the niche affiliate market for yourself requires some basic criteria:
You’re competent and familiar with products. You really understand and are interested in the niche. Your business knowledge base for the affiliate is fully operational. You can promote your own business effectively in the affiliate’s niche.
