One a apolitical cabaret owner, the others quarreling for communal change. Cast includes Andy Garcia, Bill Murray, Tomas Milian, Dustin Hoffinan, Danny Pino, and Champ Rivers. (138 minutes, 2006)

Sugar Hill: Bey plays the Ludicrous “Sugar” Hill, who avenges the mob’s rubout of her fianc’, summoning up black zombies from the grave. Here is a bizarre mix of reprisal, and witchcraft factors. Michael Collins: Politically charged tale of Irish insurgent leader Collins (Neeson), who with charm, guts, and idealistic fervor leads the quarrel contrary to British rule in the adolescents and ’20s. Dynamic and commanding first half gives way to more abstinent and unavoidable summarization, in which Collins is made to become an ambassador and compromiser, sowing the kernels of his own downfall. Neeson is phenomenal and works with a first-rate cast in this convincing, believable, and vicious period piece, beautifully filmed by Chris Menges. Cast includes Liam Neeson, Aidan Quinn, Julia Roberts, Stephen Rea, Alan Rickman, Ian Hart, Brendan Gleeson, and Charles Dance. (132 minutes, 1996)

Cinderella Man: Recounts the true story of James J. Braddock, the Cinderella Man. Braddock was a boxer in the early 1930′s who was seemingly already washed up from a not so stellar career. He was down on his luck and barely keeping the family alive. To save his family Braddock revives his career, and then does the impossible. He wins the heavyweight title.

Dimples: Prime Shirley, with our heroine doing her best to spare her indigent dad, played by amazing Morgan. Melodies: “Oh Mister Gentleman Up in the Moon,” “What Did the Bluebird Affirm.” Cast includes Shirley Church, Blunt Morgan, Helen Westley, Robert Kent, Stepin Fetchit, and Astrid Allwyn. (78 minutes, 1936)

Shining Through: The movie is set in WWII. Linda Voss is a legal secretary with a Jewish relative in Germany. She figures out her boss is working for the government on covert operations. She wants to help, and she speaks German. She eventually gets an assignment to go undercover in Germany. What will her fate be?
